Chapel for Nature
Completed July 2014

Every year, the architecture school in Skopje organizes a summer school. This year, their guest was Sami Rintala. The workshop took place in the monastery in Kriva Palanka. Thirty-six students built a chapel for nature. The main challenge was organizing the work on the construction site in the forest. The final chapel has two main axes and seven walls, each group of six students (in addition to the group of tutors) being responsible for one wall. In the end, seven wood walls emerged in nature, using only hand tools. Through the effort and involvement of all the participants, the chapel now creates a pleasant space surrounded by forest, where one can sit alone or with friends, enjoying the surrounding nature.
